If there should be a fire in the building, all rooms would be signaled and directed to evacuate the hotel. Hotels are also constructed with firewalls separating each room. This nonflammable sheetrock prohibits an existing fire from expanding to the neighboring rooms, which could result in setting the entire building on fire. In addition, automatic fire sprinklers are mandated as well as visible fire exits and a sufficient number of emergency exits.
